Acceptance

By accessing or using this website (araf-standard.org), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, you must not use the site.

These Terms apply to all visitors, including individuals accessing the site for personal, professional, research, or institutional purposes.

About This Site

araf-standard.org is operated by the Institute for Autonomous Governance Pty Ltd (ACN 696 112 277) (the Institute), a company incorporated in New South Wales, Australia.

The site publishes the Agentic Risk Architecture Framework (ARAF) and related governance infrastructure materials. The Institute is the steward of the ARAF standard. Accredited assessment services are provided by Venture Bench Pty Ltd (ABN 55 676 334 213) and other Institute-accredited assessors. The Institute does not itself provide consulting, advisory, or assessment services.

Your use of this site is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

Section 03

Framework Materials: Licence and Permitted Use

The ARAF framework, including its dimensional definitions, scoring methodology, certification tiers, Governance Benchmark Index, Evidence Infrastructure Standard, and related published documents (together, the Framework Materials), is made available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence (CC BY 4.0).

Under CC BY 4.0, you may share, reproduce, and adapt the Framework Materials for any purpose, including commercial use, provided that you:

  • attribute the work to the Institute for Autonomous Governance Pty Ltd with a reference to araf-standard.org;
  • indicate if you have made modifications; and
  • do not imply that the Institute endorses your use or your organisation.

Section 04

Intellectual Property

All Framework Materials published on this site are the intellectual property of the Institute for Autonomous Governance Pty Ltd, licensed under CC BY 4.0 as described above.

The ARAF name, certification marks, and associated terminology are proprietary to the Institute. Use of the ARAF name or marks to describe an assessment, certification, or compliance status requires authorisation from the Institute and, where applicable, must be conducted by an Institute-accredited assessor. Unauthorised use of ARAF certification marks is prohibited.

Website design, original editorial content not forming part of the Framework Materials, and non-downloadable site components remain the intellectual property of the Institute. These are not licensed under CC BY 4.0.

No Reliance on Website Content

The Framework Materials and other content published on this site are provided for informational and standard-setting purposes only. They do not constitute legal, regulatory, compliance, insurance, financial, or professional advice.

The Institute does not warrant that website content is complete, current, or free from error. Framework versions, certification requirements, and scoring methodology may be updated from time to time. Implementing entities should verify they are using the current published version.

No person or entity should act or refrain from acting in reliance on website content without first obtaining independent professional advice appropriate to their circumstances.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Institute excludes all liability for any loss or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with access to or use of this website or the Framework Materials, including without limitation:

  • any loss arising from reliance on website content;
  • any loss arising from implementation of the Framework Materials;
  • any interruption to or unavailability of the website; and
  • any loss caused by third-party content or linked websites.

Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the maximum extent permitted by the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) and applicable Australian Consumer Law.

User Responsibilities

Each person or entity that accesses, uses, implements, or relies upon the Framework Materials is solely responsible for:

  • determining whether the Framework Materials are appropriate for their circumstances;
  • obtaining independent legal, regulatory, compliance, insurance, and professional advice applicable to their specific situation;
  • satisfying all applicable legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations in all relevant jurisdictions;
  • ensuring that any governance programme implemented meets the standards required by applicable law, regulation, and their own governance obligations; and
  • all decisions made and actions taken in connection with the implementation or use of the Framework Materials.

The Institute accepts no responsibility for any decision made or action taken by any implementing entity based on the Framework Materials.

Third-Party Links

This site may contain links to third-party websites and resources. These links are provided for convenience only. The Institute does not endorse, control, or accept responsibility for the content, privacy practices, or availability of linked sites.

Section 09

Prohibited Conduct

You must not:

  • misrepresent an assessment outcome, GBI score, or certification status achieved under the ARAF framework;
  • claim a certification tier not achieved through an authorised ARAF assessment;
  • use the ARAF name or certification marks in a manner that implies Institute endorsement without authorisation;
  • attempt to interfere with or compromise the security or integrity of this website; or
  • use automated tools to scrape or systematically extract content from this site in a manner that imposes unreasonable load or circumvents access controls.

Any person who breaches this section agrees to indemnify the Institute against all losses, costs, and claims arising from or in connection with that breach.

Section 10

Changes to These Terms

The Institute may update these Terms of Use from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of the site after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Material changes to these Terms will be flagged on the site homepage for a reasonable period following publication.

Section 11

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, unenforceable, or illegal, that provision will be severed. The remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect as if the severed provision had not been included.

Section 12

Waiver and Entire Agreement

No waiver of any term of these Terms is effective unless made in writing. A failure to exercise or delay in exercising any right under these Terms does not operate as a waiver of that right.

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and the Institute regarding use of this site, subject to any separate written agreement entered into between you and the Institute or an Institute-accredited assessor.

Section 13

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. You submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
